Chris purchased the Bitcoin in 2011 and left the assets under the exchange's custody without transferring them to a self-custody wallet. Intersango, formerly known as Britcoin, was among the first UK exchanges to offer Bitcoin trading against the pound. Ryan Sweetnam, Director of Financial Litigation at CEL Solicitors, assisted in recovering the assets. The firm spent four months preparing and submitting required documents to US courts, and the return was ultimately completed through negotiation.
