On October 13, the Tianjin Second Intermediate People's Court announced that it had accepted on September 28 the application by the Tianjin People's Procuratorate Second Branch to confiscate the illegal gains of criminal suspect Qian Zhimin. According to the list of properties applied for confiscation published by the Tianjin Second Intermediate Court, in addition to bitcoins, the virtual currencies involved in the case also include 72,745.79502 Bitcoin Cash, 72,745.78555 Bitcoin Gold, 72,745.7845 Bitcoin SV, 3,605,989.9995 XRP, and 70,081,208.62553222 Dogecoin (already converted by UK judicial authorities and deposited into an interest-bearing account). In addition, the properties applied for confiscation also include US dollars, euros, pounds in cash, jewelry, as well as bank balances, investment portfolios, etc. The Tianjin People's Procuratorate Second Branch believes that Qian Zhimin is suspected of fund-raising fraud, and after fleeing was put on the wanted list for a year but could not be brought to justice. There is evidence proving that more than 61,800 bitcoins and other properties seized in the UK are illegal gains and fruits thereof, and the illegal gains and the property into which they have been transformed or converted, as well as the fruits thereof, should be recovered. Apart from being returned to the damaged fundraising participants in accordance with the law, they should be confiscated.

  6. Billionaire Paul says he will short US stocks all year and hold long positions in oil.BlockBeats news, October 14: Billionaire and legendary hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones said on CNBC that 2027 could be an extremely challenging year for US stocks, with the market potentially facing the most unfavorable capital flow environment since 2002. He believes that the corporate buyback and M&A trends that supported US stock gains in recent years may reverse, while IPOs by AI giants and subsequent follow-on offerings will further increase stock supply. Jones pointed out that potential listings by AI companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic, as well as financing needs brought by AI infrastructure construction, could drive companies to issue more shares. He compared the current market to the eve of the dot-com bubble burst, arguing that a dense wave of IPOs and share lockup expirations could create sustained pressure on the market. In addition, Jones warned that the continued expansion of the US fiscal deficit may ultimately force the government to adjust fiscal policy through market pressure; if oil prices rise by another $20 to $25 after the US midterm elections, it could also deal a clear blow to the stock market. He said he holds long positions in oil and stated bluntly: "I will be short for a whole year."
  7. U.S. September Overall Inflation May Hit Largest Increase in 5 Months, October Rate Hike Expectations Face TestBlockBeats news, October 14 — The latest market expectations show that the U.S. September headline CPI is expected to rise 0.6% month-over-month, up from 0.4% in August, potentially marking the largest increase in five months; the year-over-year gain is expected to rise from 3.4% to 3.6%. Influenced by the Middle East situation and oil prices, rising energy prices may become the main driver of accelerating inflation. On core CPI, the market expects a 0.2% month-over-month increase and a 2.5% year-over-year increase, with the monthly gain potentially slowing from the previous reading. Goldman Sachs expects September energy prices to rise about 5% month-over-month, while housing inflation continues to cool. The divergence between headline and core inflation trends may increase the difficulty of the Fed's policy judgment. Fed officials remain divided on the next move. Cleveland Fed President Hammack believes inflationary pressures are spreading to more areas and is open to whether to hike rates at the end of October; Governor Waller said there is no need to raise rates at two consecutive meetings. The market will focus on whether this data release will change judgments about the rate path for October and December. U.S. September CPI will be released tonight at 20:30, September PPI will be released on Thursday, and Fed Chairman Warsh is expected to speak on Friday. If CPI comes in above expectations, it may reinforce expectations for further policy tightening; if core inflation slows, it may support the Fed in pausing rate hikes.
  8. Michael Saylor says a new bull market has begun, expecting Bitcoin to return above $100,000.BlockBeats news, October 14: Strategy co-founder and executive chairman Michael Saylor said in an interview that Bitcoin has bottomed out and rebounded, and is expected to break through $100,000 again. He believes Bitcoin previously bottomed slightly below $60,000, has now recovered to the $80,000 range, and is expected to continue rising. Saylor said that an improved regulatory environment and banks' accelerating adoption of Bitcoin are driving the market into a new bull run. He expects Bitcoin's long-term annualized gains to reach 20% to 30% over the next few years, and Strategy may also increase its Bitcoin purchases during the bull market and issue more securities to fund additional purchases. In addition, regarding MSCI's consideration of adjusting index rules that could exclude companies whose main business is accumulating assets from global equity indexes, Saylor expressed opposition, arguing that such a move could set an unfavorable precedent for the digital asset industry. MSCI is expected to announce its decision this Friday. Last November, JPMorgan estimated that if Strategy were removed, it could face a risk of up to $2.8 billion in fund outflows.
